Spooky Baker's Twine Spider Web Wreath Tutorial

Hi everyone!  I am so excited to be sharing a fun and easy way to create a spooky Halloween wreath.  Create a spooky spider web with a spool of baker's twine and some plastic spiders.  You can even get the kids involved with this project!  All it takes is a bit of time and some basic crafting supplies.

All you need to make this wreath is a foam wreath form, baker's twine, and plastic spiders. | popperandmimi.com

Supplies: 10" styrofoam wreath form, May Arts baker's twine (approx. 100 yards), stapler, spiders.

1. Begin by stapling the starting end of the baker's twine to the back of your wreath form.  I stapled mine in a zigzag pattern so it wouldn't slip.

2. Now get some good music because you'll be here for a while (maybe 20 minutes).  The fastest way to wrap the wreath is to hold the wreath form between your legs so you can pass the spool between both hands.  I found it easiest to wrap the twine around several times and then push it down.  Finish the wreath by tying the twine in a knot.  BONUS: Your thighs will tone while you work.

3. Tie four pieces of twine across the middle of the wreath, securing with square knots in the back.  I opted to have my web off-center and asymmetrical for a more authentic spider web feel.

4. Tie a piece of twine near the center of the web.  Loosely wrap it in a spiral to estimate the length you will need.

5. Starting at the center, begin looping the twine around each spoke, creating a spiral as you go.

6. When you reach the end, trim any excess twine and staple to the back of the wreath.

7. Hot glue some spiders to the front of the wreath and you're done!  Now you have a perfectly spooky Halloween wreath that will last for the years to come.
