New Year's Eve Shaker Card

With Christmas cards well on their way (right?), it is about time to put together some New Year's cards.  Or, if you are a slacker like me, you just may be sending New Year's cards this year instead of Christmas cards.  With some creative upcycling and some sequins, you can put together a fun New Year's Eve shaker card

New Year's Eve Shaker Card

What's more fun than confetti on New Year's Eve?  I upcycled some packaging to create a sparkly, interactive sequin shaker card.  My favorite part is the non-traditional sentiment.  It gives a fun hint as to what should happen at the stroke of twelve.

To make a shaker card, print a sentiment on cardstock and then cut a circle just slightly larger than your packaging.  Insert sequins and cover the back with cardstock and adhere the shaker panel to the front of your card.  TIP: Gently wipe the inside of your packaging with a dryer sheet to minimize static cling.

The packaging I upcycled is about 1/2" thick making for a fun shaker full of bright and shiny sequins.

You can see this card along with other fantastic sequin inspiration in the Nov/Dec digital issue of Paper Crafts Magazine
