Stretch your HSN WRMK Fuse Tool Kit: Make Up To 30 Cards!

Amanda Coleman Designs FTC Disclosure

I have known about the WRMK Fuse tool for some time now and was fascinated by how easy it made it to customize pocket scrapbooking.  But alas, I don't scrapbook.  Not even one little bit.  I was so excited when WRMK came out with a Fuse Kit that had all kinds of fusible papers (FUSIBLE PAPERS!!!) and card making embellishments.  I was hooked the minute I tried it.  Check it out...

Each one of these cards was made with the fusible papers and embellishments that come with the HSN WRMK Fuse Kit.  As a stand alone kit, there are enough supplies to make 12 custom fusible cards.  But wait...there's more!!!

The HSN WRMK Fuse kit comes with enough fusible paper to make 12 complete cards, BUT if you cut up the paper into separate A2 (5.5"x4.25") panels, you will have enough fusible paper to make 30 different card fronts!  Wow!

This card was made with a fusible card front and several fusible embellishments fused to the front.  It was super easy.  Just layer the embellishments like you would on any other card.

Shaker cards are easy to create with the sequins and shaker packets that come with the WRMK Fuse Tool Kit.  Create a shaker packet, fuse to the back of a card front, and fuse some embellishments to the front.  It's really that easy.  I love all of the different embellishments that come with the kit.  All of the sentiments are perfect for cards and everything coordinates with each of the fusible papers.

The WRMK Fuse took can be used to create details on the front of the card.  I used one of the decorative Fuse tips to add some texture to the corners of this card.  The decorative tips also work to fuse elements together, too.

How to Make Shaker Card with the WRMK Fuse

Now lets talk shaker cards for a minute.  I found as I was playing around with the Fuse tool, that it is not necessary to fuse the entire shaker package to the back of the fusible paper.  Simple fusing the corners works best and makes for the most level and flat shaker.  Compare that to...

This is what it looked like when I free-hand fused a shaker package to the back of the fusible paper.  Oops.  Now, this was my very first try so there could have been a lot of user error, but why risk it.  TIP: Use the ruler where possible for the cleanest and straightest fuse lines.

Okay, now that you have successfully fused your shaker to the back of your card fusible front, you can play around with various fusible embellishments until you find a design you are happy with.  Using the Fuse is nice because, like adhesive, you can fuse items to the card front individually.

Sticking with my corners only technique, I started by fusing the heart window to the front of the card.  Some fuse lines may be covered up with embellishments, whereas other fuse lines may become part of the card design.

Use the regular Fuse tip to fuse different embellishments to the front of the card.  It will melt the two pieces together and leave a "stitched" fuse line.  It looks so artsy.  Add some additional texture to the card by swapping out the regular Fuse tip with a decorative Fuse tip (pictured above).

Once you have fused all of the elements to your card front, add some extra color by backing the shaker with a piece of colored cardstock.  Adhere the card front to a card base with your favorite tape runner.

Here is some other handy, dandy info on the WRMK Fuse tool and kit:

  • The Fuse tool comes with a fusing tip, cutting tip, ruler, stencil and tool stand.
  • The welding tip creates a strong, clean, micro-weld seam that will not tear or separate, while the cutting tip allows you to create a slit in any plastic sleeve.
  • Plastic sleeves included in this get are acid free, PVC free, archival material.

Sounds fun, right?  I was pretty amazed at all this tool could do.  I can't wait to see if WRMK will come out with more fun fusible materials and embellishments.
