Stamp a Scene with Paper Piecing

Even with the start of school this week, I am still dreaming of a relaxing tropical vacation.  Sigh.  Since a trip to far off isles isn't in my near future, I'll keep living vicariously through card making for now.

I love creating miniature scenes on cards.  The tropical icons from the Tiger & Lily Stamp set from Waffle Flower Crafts is perfect for doing just that.  There are palm trees, sharks,  waves and hats that you can combine to create the most darling scene.

If you are not into coloring (like me), paper piecing is a fun way to add fun colors and patterns to your stamped creations.  Stamp images on multiple pieces of paper, trim out the various pieces, and assemble your design.  Sometimes I stamp an image on a few different papers to see what I like best.  I couldn't decide what I wanted to use for the tree trunks, so I stamped them on two different papers.

Layer your stamped paper pieces on cardstock and patterned paper to create a little tropical scene.  Add additonal texture by using cork to create the sand.

Finish your scene by adding some gold sequins and stamping your sentiment.

Enjoy the last days of summer!
